Dr. Kenneth Cole, Clinic Director and Psychologist
As both a psychologist and Clinic Director at Mequon Clinical Associates, Dr. Kenneth Cole has over 20 years experience working with clients and building collaborative and goal directed relationships focused on creating real and lasting change. Dr. Cole treats a range of issues including depression, parenting problems, stressors of adolescence, marital and family conflict and survivors of abuse and neglect. His approach is built on the tenets of cognitive-behavioral therapy, is strength based and works to collaborate with those resources that will help clients reach their goals. In addition to his direct service with clients, he also frequently journals on the MCA website on some of the more concrete ways people can bring about positive change in their lives.
As he puts it, "To me, psychotherapy is less about realizing who you "can be" and more about first recognizing and appreciating the inherent strengths of who you are."
Prior to joining Mequon Clinical Associates, Dr. Cole was Regional Director of Western Youth Services, one of Southern California's largest outpatient mental health clinics. With an active roster of over 500 clients, Dr. Cole was responsible for both the management of clinical programs, but also ensuring a high quality of client care and outcomes. In addition to his work as a psychologist, Dr. Cole is a published children's author, lecturer and community advocate. His topics of interest are empowering communities, building collaborative partnerships, and harnessing the power of an individual's hidden strengths and resilience to bring about not only personal change, but familial, community and social change. His published picture book, No Bad News, reflects such a belief and continues to empower both children and adults alike to take the lead role in bringing about change in their lives.
