Carrie has a diverse background in nursing, spending the first half of her career in medical oncology, cardiac intensive care, and palliative care consultation. In September 2008, she graduated from New York University with a Master of Science in the dual-degree palliative care and primary care nurse practitioner program. As a palliative care nurse practitioner for 10 years, she worked with her medical colleagues to establish palliative care consultation programs in academic medical centers and community hospitals. Carrie was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing for Nurse Leader in April 2016. In May 2017, she completed a post-master’s nurse practitioner certification in psychiatric mental health from Alverno College. Carrie became a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in September 2017 and joined Mequon Clinical Associates in January 2018.
